In the Night I Dream Back to the River I Once Visited

In 2016, I left my hometown for the first time to study in Shanghai. On weekends, I would escape to the ancient water towns near the campus, wandering through labyrinthine waterways and beneath clusters of small stone bridges to sketch the reflections dancing in the water. A decade has swiftly passed since those initial sketches. Returning to those forms and remapping those waters today feels like an act of emotional archaeology, a way of chasing fleeting, luminous shadows across the shifting surface of my own history.
