Voyaging

fluorocarbon line, driftwood, corn husk twine, cotton thread, resin, sterling silver, snail shell and ash wood
420 × 80 × 20 cm

This work was born from a chance encounter with the traditional mechanics of a backstrap loom. Watching the shuttle slide rhythmically between the warp and weft lines, and seeing the long, delicate threads vibrate in the air, I began to envision the act of spinning and weaving as a tangible manifestation of the river of time. In this cosmic tapestry, I imagine myself as a small boat navigating through a vast expanse of time and space, deliberately weaving together my own past, present, and future. The vessel moves steadily through the current, charting a course into the unknown.
